  1. Prepare the Area:

    • Apply a non-perfumed lotion like sorbolene cream, Vitamin E, or Bio-oil to the scar.

    • Use the pads of your fingers and press gently until the scar turns white.

  2. Massage Movements:

    • Use these motions for each session:

      • Circular: Move your fingers in small clockwise or counterclockwise circles.

      • Vertical: Massage up and down along the scar.

      • Horizontal: Gently move side to side across the scar.

  3. Direction:

    • Alternate the starting position each day ie top to bottom, then bottom to top to ensure consistency along the full length of the scar

  4. Frequency:

    • Perform this massage 3 times per day.

Benefits of Scar Massage:

  • Reduces sensitivity and itchiness in the scar area.

  • Prevents adhesions (sticking) of tissues beneath the scar.

  • Promotes collagen remodeling for better healing.

  • Helps restore your range of motion.

Tips for Success:

  • If the scar area is painful or feels numb, start gently.

  • Avoid using lotions with perfumes or harsh chemicals—MooGoo is a great option available at most chemists.

  • Gradually increase pressure, especially on tighter or harder sections of the scar.

Always stop if you experience increased pain, heat, or redness, and consult your doctor.
