If you are struggling with pain, tension or reduced productivity with this new work from home situation we are all finding ourselves in, then this blog if for YOU!

Now here’s the problem, let me explain.

COVID-19 has hit us like a tonne of bricks. You had to quickly pack up your office desk and start working from home with little to no training or support on how it should be done effectively. This places increased stress on you and increased risk of injury as you do not have the right set-up in place.

This is coupled with gyms closing, boot camps shut down, so your only outlet to get out of the house and keep moving has been taken away. Your frustrated and your stress continues to rise.  Pretty soon your motivation to do anything diminishes away.

And not to mention all your meetings have now turned to the online platform, increasing the amount of time you are at your desk and staring at a screen!

If you can relate to any or all of these, then send us a message and I’ll show you how to take control of your day and stay injury free!

Right now, I’m going to share with you the top 5 ways you can keep yourself injury free and increase productivity from home.

Now let’s get into it.

  1. Prepare your space: Is your desk cluttered? Do you have the correct lighting? Poor lighting is a major cause of headaches. Do you have all the tools you need to work?

  2. Create a routine: This is essential for life at home! You must stick to a routine like you would normally in the office. Schedule all your activities into your day so you know what you are doing and how you are going to do it. This includes physical activity.

  3. Get outside daily for at least 1 hour: Exercise and fresh air are essential. Your body is designed to move and want to move to stay injury free!

  4. Desk / Chair set-up: Is your chair at the right height for your desk? Does your chair have arm rests? Remove them if that is the only thing you do! Are you using a laptop or desktop? Are you eyes level with the top of the screen? Is your back supported or are you stooping over? Simple adjustments to your ergonomics can ensure you stay injury free!

  5. Take regular breaks: Call a friend, have a coffee outside in the sun and relax. Enjoy the simple treasures that life has to offer during these times of increased stress and uncertainty. 10 minutes can ease a significant amount of muscle tension.
